  • Give your new version a meaningful name.

NOTE: Data for this version of the report will come from the same source as the original, however, C360 does not maintain your report versions, but only the originals published by us.
This means that you may want to re-create this copy of the report if newer versions become available.

Step 2: Edit the new version

  • Next, click on the Edit button.

You will now see the report in “design” mode.  It may look scary at first but it’s difficult to break (I promise  ?)

Section 1 shows the Data Sources (Fields) and which part of each data source was used in a particular graph or table. You will need to click on each individual component to ascertain the sources.

Section 2 shows all the pages within this report, including the hidden ones.

For now, let’s focus on Section 1.

In this exercise we want to change the way a page is filtered.  So we want to update the type of filter from an existing filter.

I will use the report page “Historical Trends” to demonstrate how to change a date filter.

Note:  The process is the same for any filter.  It may take time to become confident regarding the available settings for each type of filter (or slicer)

Step One – Click on the filter that you wish to change.

You will notice that section now has a border around it (Point 1).  Because we have selected this component, we can now also see what data is being used from CWM.

Under the Visualizations section, you will find the option for Between under the Slicer settings, see below.

Let’s change that to type “Between”. Simply click on the option “Between”

You will notice that the dataset is still exactly the same but the visuals probably changed and so did the filter.

You can now use the filter as it stands (With the slider) or you can change that option too.

For consistency’s sake and the enjoyment of the product we recommend you update the Font Color of your new selected Date Range selection method.

To do that, Simply expand the Date inputs section by clicking on the down arrow (˅) and then adjust the font color as follows.

The filter will now (in appearance) look the same as all other filters.

Finally, you can resize the filter.  If you chose to keep the Slider, remember to increase the height of this slicer because the slider header may not be visible if you don't.

  • Now do the same on any other pages that you wish to adjust.

Step 3: Final preparations, save and view the new report

Please note:  It is a good idea to collapse the Filter field if you had it open before then select the first page in the report before you save and close the report.   This is because PowerBI will always open on the last page you had opened when you saved.
  • Click on the Summary Page (Item 1) , Now click on File (Item 2) and finally on Save (Item 3)
