This article explains the process for stopping, starting or restarting the Cognition360 Windows Service in your environment.

Instructions to start, stop or restart the C360 Service

Step 1: Open up the Service App from the Console

• In the Cortana search field or from the "Start" menu type in "Services"

• Now click on the "Open" command 

Step 2: Locate the "Cognition BIT Windows Data Service" and perform the desired action

• Filter the "Name" Column and then locate the "Cognition BIT Windows Data Service"

• You can make changes from the selection pane, by right clicking on the name or through the Properties dialogue window.  With the service selected...

• To access the options, choose one of the methods explained above.
• If the service is running and you want to stop it, simply select "Stop".  (Do not forget to restart it again)
• If the service is running but you want to restart it, simply "Restart".
• If the service has stopped and you want to either start or restart it, simply select the relevant option.

Step 3: Final checks

• It is really important to:

  • Set the Startup type to a delayed start.
