This article explains the process for stopping, starting or restarting the Cognition360 Windows Service in your environment.
Please note - All examples are based on our Demo data. Any similarities are purely coincidental.
Instructions to start, stop or restart the C360 Service

Step 1: Open up the Service App from the Console
- In the Cortana search field or from the "Start" menu type in "Service"
- Now click on the Services App
Step 2: Locate the "Cognition BIT Windows Data Service" and perform the desired action
- Filter the "Name" Column and then locate the "Cognition BIT Windows Data Service"
- To access the options, right click on this service.
- If the service is running and you want to stop it, simply right click and Stop the service. (Do not forget to restart it again)
- If the service is running but you want to restart it, simply right click and Restart the service.
- If the service has stopped and you want to either start or restart it, simply right click and select either start or restart.

You can also click on the Properties and make your selection from there.
Step 3: Final checks
- It is really important to:
- You guessed it - (Do not forget to restart the service again!)
- Set the Startup type to a delayed start.
